The benefits and features of Verisurf Projection
Verisurf Projection allows live pick-and-shoot programming for instantaneous geometry projection onto any tool or assembly. This impressive feature allows you to eliminate hard tooling for good with a highly visible, accurately located 3D template. The result? Seamless, flexible, cost-efficient manufacturing.
This leading metrology solution provides powerful laser projector programming that can rapidly guide assembly and inspection to facilitate composite fly layup. You can also use any projector to reduce or eliminate tooling and fixtures.
With laser projection, curvilinear features defined in a CAD model are projected onto their nominal locations. The resulting image is then used to position items such as tools, fasteners, assemblies, and composite plies, revealing the location of hidden features as well as guiding automated inspections.
Direct laser control allows you to verify your patterns, creating and projecting patterns as you go.
Projection is used throughout composite manufacturing where play outlines and orientations are sequenced from 3D CAD models and projected onto the layup tool to help guide the placement of plies. When locating paint masks and graphics on large objects such as aircraft ships and trains, Verisurf Projection eliminates time-consuming taping and trimming.
This impressive Metrology software also enables the placement of items ranging from clips, fasteners, and harnesses to beam stringers and bulkheads. As a result, this eliminates the need for work instructions and costly tools and resources.
The integration of projection with 3D metrology improves repeatability and reproducibility. Visually this is achieved by guiding the user through a measurement sequence.
When using a portable CMM, you can also quickly digitise and eliminate templates as you transition from hard tooling to digital projection.
